Frequently Asked Questions

What is LifeGroup Ministry?  LifeGroups are a safe place to meet new people, make friends, grow in your faith and connect with God’s word.

What happens in a ‘typical’ LifeGroup meeting?  Each LifeGroup develops its own personality, but there are common elements that happen in most groups.  There is a time for prayer, fellowship and learning.

What do we learn in these groups?  It depends on the group.  However, most groups choose curriculum that ranges from topical studies to books of the Bible.  Some groups may even dig deeper into the weekend message.

Do I have to be a member to join a LifeGroup?  No, you don’t. Anyone can be a part of a LifeGroup at King of Kings.  Feel free to invite friends!

How is this Bible Study different than others I have been involved in?  A LifeGroup is more than studying the Bible together.  When you become part of a LifeGroup you not only commit to what you are learning, but you care for each other and meet the needs of the other LifeGroup members.

How long does this LifeGroup last? Each LifeGroup can last anywhere between 7-12 weeks depending on the study.  Each session will last approximately 90 minutes.

What is the cost? Most studies will be free of charge however; some may use optional study guides that you may want to purchase.  Check catalog or your leader for details of your group.

Is childcare available?  Childcare is left up to each individual group.  Please check with your group leader or senior Pastor for details on childcare.

What if I don’t like my group?  Please try  your group for a few sessions.  If a problem persists, you can speak with your group leader, or to any of the LifeGroup Team Support leaders for advice.

Where do these groups meet?  Most groups meet somewhere in the Lake Orion/Oxford  area.  Please refer to the catalog to find the location of a group that fits you.

LifeGroup Ministry at King of Kings is influenced by our mission-- “to KNOW the love of God, to GROW in His word, and to SOW His love throughout the world.

It is also influenced by the following values of our church:

*We believe devotion to Christ is a process for believers. Therefore, we will provide the means by which all members may be built up in Christ.

*We believe Christ-like transformation happens best when relationships connect with the word of God.
